Vasanthamayil began in Nathakadayur in 1992 as a single family clothing store. It grew not through franchising or investment but through the same method the founder used on those early bicycle routes — one customer at a time, one town at a time.
Today four branches serve the Kangayam and Vellakovil belt. Each one is run by a member of the same family. Each one stocks the same buying-trip selection and holds the same quality standard.

Nathakadayur
The store that started everything. Still standing in the town that gave us our roots.
This is where it began. In 1992, Bala Subramaniam — who had spent the previous decade selling sarees across Indian markets by bicycle — opened the first Vasanthamayil store in Nathakadayur.
Nathakadayur is a small town. The store has never tried to be more than what the town needs. What it has always been is trustworthy — the kind of store where the same families have been coming for thirty years.

The heart of Vasanthamayil. The widest selection, the deepest relationships, the branch that defines what the brand has become.
Muthusureshkumar and Ananda Barani built the Kangayam branch from the ground up — opening in a town where Vasanthamayil had no history, no reputation, and no guarantee of success.
Ananda Barani has stood behind this counter for decades. She remembers names, families, occasions, preferences. The relationships she built at Kangayam are the reason eighty percent of customers who walk in here have walked in before.

Fourth Branch
Muthur
The fourth branch, run by the family's own daughter. The name on the sign is the same. So is everything behind it.
The Muthur branch is run by the elder daughter of the family — the next generation of the same people who built everything from Nathakadayur onwards.
Vasanthamayil was named after an elder sister — Vasanthi, who Bala Subramaniam honoured in the naming of his first store. The fourth branch of that store is run by an elder sister. The symmetry is not accidental.
